The 8th grade team lost to Bellbrook last night in one of their best played matches of the season. We started off with some great serving from Kendall Leffew. Kendall had 5 good serves in the first set. Carly Zimmer and Lexy Shaw helped us out by serving without error throughout the night. Jenna Brumbaugh, a 7th grader, came up to pinch hit/serve for Chloee Lang when her shoulder pain was too much. Jenna served 8 great serves for us in the 2nd set. The final scores were 18-25 and 22-25. Our record is now 6-8, 5-6 in the SWBL.
The 7th grade fought just as well throughout their own match. Jenna Brumbaugh provided 7 great serves in the first set. KayeLee Sowers’ great serves in the first set also helped energize the team. Alyssa Hodkin and Tyla Johns had no serving errors all night. Great plays were made by every member of the team! Unfortunately, their final scores were 21-25, 12-25. Their record is now 7-7, 7-4 in the SWBL.
Our next match is Monday, September 30th, at Troy Christian at 5pm.
